From September 26 to November 1, 2026, Disneyland Paris will once again transform into a colorful Halloween world. The full program for 2026 has not yet been announced. Previous editions already offer a sense of what to expect: family friendly frights, familiar Disney Villains and elaborately designed themed areas.
Scares and Character Performers
Disneyland focuses less on intense horror encounters with roaming scare actors and more on staged meetings with familiar characters. Mickey, Minnie and their friends most recently appeared as Halloween pranksters. Maleficent, Captain Hook, the Queen of Hearts and Jafar brought a distinctly darker atmosphere to the park.
Jack Skellington and Sally were also among the special character encounters in Frontierland. Fans of scare acting will find plenty to observe in the use of facial expression, posture and proximity as well as the recognizable movement patterns of each character. Traditional scare zones or explicitly advertised scare actors have not yet been confirmed for 2026.
Costumes and Sets
One of the great strengths of the Disney Halloween Festival is its visual design. Halloween costumes, colorful parade floats and decorated streets connect the individual appearances into a cohesive themed world. Pumpkins, ghosts and skeletons shape the atmosphere along Main Street and throughout Frontierland. The design remains gently eerie and playful, making it suitable for families.
After dark, Sleeping Beauty Castle becomes a grand stage for the Disney Villains. Last season also introduced the Unlucky Nugget Saloon. Dark decorations and a fitting atmosphere transformed the restaurant into a haunted saloon.
Where Can You Find the Biggest Thrills?
Visitors looking for stronger scares will find them mainly in Phantom Manor and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. The festival as a whole remains deliberately accessible. Its staging relies more on atmosphere, character performance, costumes and scenery than on intense scares.
Halloween at Disneyland Paris is therefore particularly well suited to families, Disney fans and anyone interested in the design of Halloween events. The detailed program will reveal which shows, characters and special offerings will actually return in 2026.
