Live scare actors, Junkyard, Vigor’s Freakshow and Reset: Zone 22 turns Freizeitpark Plohn into one of Saxony’s most interesting Halloween events in October 2026. Find dates, mazes, age guidance, opening hours and ticket information.

Junkyard, freakshow horror and a reset that probably should never have been attempted: Zone 22 returns to Freizeitpark Plohn in October 2026. With several horror mazes, live scare actors and a dedicated Halloween special, it is one of the most interesting Halloween events in Saxony and eastern Germany.

If you are searching for a Halloween event in Saxony, a horror maze in eastern Germany or a German theme park with live scare actors, Freizeitpark Plohn deserves a place on your October list. During the day, Plohn remains a family-friendly amusement park. Inside Zone 22, however, the mood changes considerably.

What is Zone 22 at Freizeitpark Plohn?

Zone 22 is the main horror area of the Halloween parties at Freizeitpark Plohn near Lengenfeld in Saxony, Germany. The park itself promotes Zone 22 as eastern Germany’s largest outdoor Halloween live spectacle.

Rather than relying only on pumpkins and seasonal decoration, Zone 22 is a dedicated event area built around walk-through horror mazes and live performers. Three mazes have been announced for 2026: Junkyard, Vigor’s Freakshow and Reset.

When is Zone 22 Plohn in 2026?

Freizeitpark Plohn’s main Halloween parties take place on four Saturdays in October 2026:

  • October 10, 2026
  • October 17, 2026
  • October 24, 2026
  • October 31, 2026

On these dates, the amusement park stays open until 8:00 p.m., while Zone 22 continues until 10:00 p.m.. There is also a dedicated Halloween Zone 22 Special on Friday, October 30, 2026.

Which horror mazes are at Zone 22 in 2026?

Junkyard

Junkyard has become one of the established attractions of Zone 22. Rusting vehicles, industrial debris and some decidedly unfriendly inhabitants turn a seemingly abandoned scrapyard into a walk-through horror setting.

Zone 22 has also developed its own recurring horror world over the years, with characters such as Vigor appearing throughout its stories. This gives the event more continuity than a collection of completely unrelated Halloween mazes.

Vigor’s Freakshow

Vigor’s Freakshow takes the event into darker carnival territory. Expect bizarre characters, freakshow imagery and live performers instead of harmless fairground nostalgia.

Vigor has become something of a central figure in the Zone 22 universe, linking different stories and attractions together. If sinister circus and freakshow horror is already enough to make you uncomfortable, this maze is unlikely to help.

Reset

The third maze for 2026 is Reset. Its story plays with the idea of reversing previous events and somehow fixing the catastrophe inside the Zone 22 universe.

A reset sounds sensible. Unfortunately, this is a horror attraction. The chances of everything going according to plan are probably not excellent.

Zone 22 on Video: What the Horror at Plohn Looks Like

Does Zone 22 use live scare actors?

Yes – and that is one of the main reasons Zone 22 stands out. Live scare actors and performers populate the mazes and event area, so the horror does not depend on scenery, sound, lighting and fog alone.

A live actor can react to visitors, change their timing and actually play a character. For us at BESO, that is the difference between walking through a decorated Halloween attraction and entering a proper haunted experience: horror is not only designed. It is performed.

What age is Zone 22 suitable for?

Freizeitpark Plohn recommends the main Zone 22 horror areas for visitors aged 16 and over. A separate, age-appropriate children’s maze is available for younger Halloween guests.

This is important if you are planning a family visit. The wider Halloween event at Freizeitpark Plohn is designed for a broad audience, while Zone 22 is the more intense horror section. Families can therefore enjoy Halloween at the park without necessarily entering the main scare mazes.

What are the Zone 22 opening hours?

According to the current official ticket information, Zone 22 is available on the regular Halloween dates from 3:00–5:00 p.m. and again from 6:00–10:00 p.m.. The event ticket gives access to the Zone 22 area and its mazes on the booked date.

The normal amusement park stays open until 8:00 p.m. during the Halloween parties. That makes it easy to combine both sides of Plohn: rides during the day, the first monsters in the afternoon and a much darker atmosphere after sunset.

Do you need a separate ticket for Zone 22?

Yes. On the regular Halloween dates, Zone 22 requires a separate event ticket in addition to a valid park admission. Combination tickets for Freizeitpark Plohn + Zone 22 are also available. Season passes do not automatically include admission to Zone 22.

Capacity is limited, so if you are travelling to Plohn for a specific Halloween weekend, booking ahead is the safer option.

What is the Zone 22 Special on October 30, 2026?

On October 30, 2026, Zone 22 gets an evening largely to itself. The regular amusement park closes at 5:00 p.m., but the Zone 22 event continues until 10:00 p.m..

The important difference is that you do not need to visit the amusement park beforehand to attend the Zone 22 Special. If you are travelling mainly for the horror mazes and scare actors rather than the rides, this is the date to look at first.

Is Zone 22 the same as Halloween at Freizeitpark Plohn?

No. The general Halloween programme at Freizeitpark Plohn covers the whole park and is also aimed at families. On the Halloween Saturdays, visitors get extended opening hours, spooky characters and a laser show with fireworks at the end of the evening.

Zone 22 is a dedicated event area within that Halloween programme and focuses much more heavily on horror mazes and live scare performers.

In short:
Halloween at Freizeitpark Plohn = seasonal fun for a broad audience.
Zone 22 = the area for horror fans.

Where is Zone 22?

Zone 22 is part of Freizeitpark Plohn in the Vogtland region of Saxony, Germany.

Freizeitpark Plohn
Rodewischer Straße 21
08485 Lengenfeld OT Plohn
Germany

The location makes it especially interesting for horror fans travelling from Saxony, Thuringia, Saxony-Anhalt, Brandenburg and eastern Bavaria. Larger Halloween events with several live-actor horror mazes are still relatively uncommon in this part of Germany, which makes Plohn worth considering even if you have to travel a little farther.

Is Zone 22 at Freizeitpark Plohn worth visiting?

If pumpkins, sweets and a little fog are enough for your Halloween, the wider amusement park already has plenty to offer.

If you are specifically looking for horror mazes in Germany, live scare actors or a haunted attraction in Saxony, keep walking. Into Zone 22.

Multiple mazes, a dedicated event area, recurring characters and real performers make Plohn one of the more interesting Halloween destinations in eastern Germany. Choose one of the regular Halloween Saturdays if you want to combine rides and horror. If the monsters are your main reason for visiting, take a particularly close look at October 30, 2026.

And if you tell us afterwards that the guy in the scrapyard did not scare you at all: we probably will not believe you.
