What Can You Expect?
“SERIAL KILLERS” is not a traditional horror attraction. Instead of jump scares and scare actors, the focus is on real criminal cases, offender profiles, forensic science and investigative work.
More than 20 stations explore cases involving names such as Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer, John Wayne Gacy, Ed Gein and Aileen Wuornos.
Visitors encounter documents, exhibits and reconstructed locations alongside sections dealing with profiling, victimology and forensic methods.
An optional VR experience adds another interactive element.
You should plan at least 90 minutes for the exhibition. If you take the time to explore the documents and individual cases in detail, you can easily stay longer.
When True Crime Becomes Horror
For horror fans, things get particularly interesting where real cases meet film history.
One of the best-known examples is Ed Gein.
His crimes later became one of several sources of inspiration for very different horror characters. Norman Bates from Psycho, Leatherface from The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Buffalo Bill from The Silence of the Lambs are not direct portrayals of Gein.
Instead, writers and filmmakers took individual elements associated with his case and transformed them into completely different fictional characters.
That distinction is important.
Good horror rarely copies reality one-to-one. It takes behaviours, environments, disturbing images or individual ideas and reshapes them into something new.
Why This Is Interesting for Scare Actors
The exhibition can also offer useful inspiration for scare actors — not as a guide to imitating real criminals, but as a way to understand why human horror characters can feel so unsettling.
A frightening character does not always have to scream, run or immediately appear aggressive.
Threat can come from contrast:
Calm, then suddenly dangerous. Friendly, yet uncomfortable. Controlled, yet unpredictable.
Characters such as Norman Bates show how a seemingly normal person can create tension precisely because something feels slightly wrong.
The environment matters too.
The exhibition uses reconstructed rooms, props and lighting to give its stories context. The same principle applies to scare acting: a convincing character rarely works through costume or makeup alone.
Character, setting, props and backstory should support each other.

Visitor reactions are generally positive, although not entirely unanimous.

Visitors often praise the atmosphere, the amount of information and the reconstructed areas. Some criticism focuses on the fact that there is a lot of reading, while experienced true-crime fans may already know many of the details surrounding the most famous cases.
That is probably the most important thing to know before visiting:
This is an immersive true-crime exhibition, not a haunted house.
If you are mainly looking for jump scares and actors chasing you through dark corridors, this is probably not the right event.
If you enjoy true crime, psychology, forensic science and the connection between real cases and horror culture, there is much more to discover.

For scare actors, there is another layer: character development, atmosphere and the power of human threat.
Sometimes, horror does not need a monster at all.
