A great scare is not an accident.

What is this about?
One thing: scaring people better. Not costume, makeup, character building or a complete scare actor training course.
You leave with three things: better timing, more scare tools and a sharper feel for which scare fits the moment.
Mechanics → Technique → Moment.
That is the whole workshop.
01 · Crack the scare
STOP 01 · MECHANICS
Why does a scare work at all?
Before Pop-out, Follow or Misdirection make sense, you need the basic machinery: Attention → Expectation → Impulse → Reaction → Reset.
Once you get that, it becomes much easier to see why some scares land – while others disappear in a lot of noise.
02 · More than just “Boo”
STOP 02 · TECHNIQUES
Five ways to catch someone off guard
Pop-out. Follow. Stillness. Misdirection. Delayed Scare. Five different routes to the same goal – and none of them works everywhere.
You get the tools and the common mistakes that kill their impact. After this, you have a lot more to work with than “loud and sudden.”
03 · Now it gets interesting
STOP 03 · READ THE MOMENT
Which scare fits – and when?
Now you have several techniques. So the real question is: which one fits right now?
Gaze direction, body language, group roles and reactions tell you more than you might expect. This is where a repeated trick becomes a scare that actually adapts to the moment.
That is it?
For this workshop: yes. No bloated course and no ten bonus modules. Once you have done the three stops, you understand the mechanics behind a good scare, have five techniques to choose from and have a better sense of when to use them.
Everything else – character, voice, movement, makeup or costume – lives elsewhere in the My Monster Academia. Here, the focus stays on the scare.
