No. Phantasialand in Brühl is not hosting its own Halloween event in 2026 — there are no Halloween Nights, scare zones or horror mazes. Anyone looking for scare actors and haunted attractions at the end of October will have to look elsewhere. So why does Phantasialand skip Halloween?
Phantasialand Halloween 2026: regular park operations instead of a horror event
Phantasialand remains open as usual around Halloween. Regular park operations continue until November 13, 2026, with the park open daily until at least 6:00 pm. No dedicated Halloween programme has been announced for October.
The schedule gives one possible clue: the shows Nobis Vol. 2 and Rock on Ice run only until October 31. After that, according to Phantasialand, preparations for the winter shows begin. The Phantasialand Wintertraum starts on November 14, 2026.
That leaves just two weeks between Halloween and one of the park’s biggest seasonal productions. A full Halloween season with its own decorations, shows, scare zones and horror attractions would therefore mean a considerable additional production effort.
Why is there no Halloween at Phantasialand?
Phantasialand has not published a current official explanation for why it does not celebrate Halloween. However, the park has long taken a different approach from many of its competitors.
From 1996 to 2006, Phantasialand held its Festival of Lights in autumn. While other theme parks increasingly turned to pumpkins, monsters and Halloween events, Phantasialand focused on lights, fantasy and a large illuminated parade. Parkscout described the concept as early as 2005 as an alternative to the horror-focused events at other parks.
The sheer effort involved in seasonal productions may also play a role. In 2026, members of the founding family recalled the elaborate costumes, parade floats and numerous departments involved in the former Festival of Lights in an interview with the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger. The park’s comparatively limited space is another factor worth considering.
Important: These are possible explanations, not officially confirmed reasons for Phantasialand’s decision to skip Halloween.
No Halloween at Phantasialand? Try these alternatives
If you want to experience Halloween at a theme park in 2026, there are much better options for horror fans.
One of Germany’s biggest Halloween events is the Halloween Horror Festival at Movie Park Germany in Bottrop. In 2026, visitors can expect nine horror houses, several scare zones and more than 300 monsters and scare actors. If you want roller coasters and a full horror event in one place, this is the obvious alternative.

The Halloween Fright Nights at Plopsaland Deutschland also turn the park into a horror destination after dark, with scare actors and dedicated Halloween attractions.

Phantasialand therefore remains an unusual exception among major theme parks in 2026: Taron, F.L.Y. and Black Mamba are there as usual in October — monsters and horror mazes are not.
