The Hamburg Dungeon is launching a new seasonal True Crime show for Halloween 2026. “Die Engelmacherin – The Silent Children” runs from 1 October to 1 November 2026 and takes visitors back to St. Pauli in 1903.
A dark St. Pauli case becomes the Halloween special
The show centres on the historical case of Elisabeth Wiese, known as the “Engelmacherin von St. Pauli”. Rather than focusing only on the perpetrator, the production follows desperate parents searching for missing foster children as well as the investigation and subsequent court proceedings. Audio and special effects turn the case into a seasonal live-actor experience.
The Hamburg Dungeon describes the production as the highlight of its 2026 Halloween season. It complements the attraction’s regular journey through Hamburg’s darker history, with live performers, themed sets and rides.
When does “Die Engelmacherin” run?
- Dates: 1 October–1 November 2026
- Location: Hamburg Dungeon, Speicherstadt
- Format: seasonal True Crime live show with audio and special effects
- Theme: the Elisabeth Wiese case and St. Pauli around 1903
Because opening times and ticket availability can change, check the current slot directly before visiting.

Free taster tour on 3 October
There is another date worth noting: during the “Nacht der Speicherstadt” on 3 October 2026, Hamburg Tourism lists a free taster tour through part of the Dungeon, including live characters and the free-fall tower. This is a separate event and not a replacement for the full Halloween experience.
